Use of photosensitizing medications that cannot be stopped (e.g., isotretinoin within the past 6–12 months, certain chemo agents)
Inability to provide informed consent
History of keloids or hypertrophic scarring
Recent sun exposure or tanning (natural or artificial)
Immunosuppression (e.g., HIV, transplant patients, long-term steroids)
Poor wound healing or uncontrolled diabetes
Epilepsy triggered by light (rare, but relevant)
Certain ink colors (yellow, white, fluorescent inks respond poorly)
Active inflammatory skin conditions at the site (eczema, psoriasis flare)
